OpenHunt is not a government app.

OpenHunt is an independent app published by Erudition Labs LLC. It is not a government app: it does not represent, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by, any government agency. Land, boundary, season and draw information is reproduced from public government records — always confirm it against the official source before you hunt.

OpenHunt reproduces public records. It does not write regulations, issue licenses, draw tags, or decide where a boundary runs — the agencies below do all of that, and what they publish governs. Where our copy of a record disagrees with theirs, theirs is correct. Every layer in the app also carries its own source and vintage, and the pipeline that ingests each record is open at github.com/thull32/openhunt.

Public records contain errors, lag reality, and get revised. Nothing in OpenHunt is legal advice, proof of land status, or a defense to trespass — confirm access with the managing agency and the landowner before you hunt. See also how parcel data is handled and our terms.

State records

Hunting units, season dates, draw odds, harvest statistics and license fees come from the state wildlife agency. That agency’s regulations are the authority; ours is a reproduction, and it can be out of date the moment they revise it.
